Una svolta nel lavoro di Carlo Orsi
From October 7 to November 18, 2011, the Galleria d'Arte Raffaella De Chirico in Turin is hosting No Photoshop, an exhibition curated by Federico Sardella.
Starting from the selection of photographs in question, the exhibition reflects on Carlo Orsi's connection with the authenticity of images. In an era dominated by photo editing, 18 unpublished shots, mounted on aluminum, were exhibited, marking a turning point in Orsi's work. The photographs, obtained from deteriorated film, evoke a shattered but magnificent world, captured by the artist's expert eye. These images, free from digital manipulation, fascinate the viewer, prompting them to search for hidden meanings that elude complete definition precisely because of their authenticity and the total absence of corrective interventions.
The exhibition is also accompanied by the publication of a catalog containing the images from No Photoshop and an interview with Carlo Orsi conducted by the curator.
