Maglie e facce da marinai, foyer of the Teatro Franco Parenti, Milan

Sailor style
From January 15 to 28, 2001, the foyer of the Teatro Franco Parenti will host the exhibition Maglie e facce da marinai, which includes portraits by Carlo Orsi and a history of sweaters made by the Creative Tertiary group of the San Vittore prison. In the photographer's shots, the sweaters produced by the inmates, inspired by those worn by English sailors in the late 19th century, are worn by a wide variety of figures: from fashion designer Ottavio Missoni to journalist Guido Vergani, from painter Emilio Tadini to model and journalist Benedetta Barzini.
The exhibition is presented in conjunction with an evening of music, theater, and dance, featuring personalities from the worlds of culture and fashion, organized by the Municipality of Milan and the National Chamber of Fashion and dedicated to the theme "Marinai e sirene. I nuovi percorsi della seduzione maschile".
