Throughout his career, Carlo Orsi has captured numerous iconic moments and figures from the world of Italian and international music. Notable among these are his photographs documenting the legendary Beatles concert at the Velodromo Vigorelli in Milan in 1965, as well as images of Riccardo Muti conducting the orchestra at Teatro alla Scala in 1997.
Orsi has also produced numerous portraits—both in the studio and on other locations—that unfailingly convey the unique character of each subject. Among the most memorable are his images of Mina as a true “style icon,” Gino Paoli playing the guitar, Lucio Dalla absorbed in reading a book, the playful shots of David Byrne, and the more intimate portraits of Liza Minnelli.
